DeKalb County Arrest Records and Warrant

Like many counties within Alabama, DeKalb County does not provide an active listing of currently active arrest records or currently-active arrest warrants. This is unfortunate because having an arrest warrant in your name, or spending time with a person for whom there is currently an arrest warrant, can cause tremendous problems for you as well as the other person.

Thankfully, there are other ways to determine if there is a warrant out for your arrest. The best place to begin would be to contact the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office directly, either by email or by telephone. While you could also do this in person, you would also be arrested if it turned out there was a warrant for you. While it is often best to turn yourself in when there is a warrant in your name, you should always contact a defense attorney before doing anything else.

To inquire as to the status of current arrest warrants in DeKalb County, contact the Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center at (256)845-3801, or send them an email at [email protected].

If you are looking to determine if someone you know has recently been arrested in DeKalb County, then you can use the tool that is located at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office website in the Corrections section. You may also use the statewide Alabama Department of Corrections Inmate Search Tool, which searches not only those persons arrested in DeKalb County, but anywhere in the state. This tool can be found at http://www.doc.state.al.us/inmsearch.asp.
